Don has been a top-tier healthcare business development professional for more than 30 years — the last 15 working in conjunction with fellow Force 10 Senior Advisor Jim Holland.  Don is a master of financial analysis and analytics with a long and strong track record of developing detailed, versatile financial models and demographic/epidemiological models to verify financial and operational validity.  Don has worked for and with a host of hospital systems, physician practice management groups, providers and companies in a variety of specific specialty and subspecialty arenas.

In his role with Force 10, Don applies his extensive financial analytic skills to major strategic projects and reorganizations at hospital and medical group entities throughout the U.S.  

From 2007 to 2017, Don served as Vice President, Healthcare Analytics for MEI Healthcare, a leading advisory firm serving the healthcare industry. Don’s role included financial and demographic/epidemiological analysis for strategic planning, new market development, acquisitions, and new project feasibility assessment; including demand analysis, reimbursement and regulatory matters, pro forma financial models, accounting and tax considerations for various transaction structures, financing options, and clients’ other quantitative needs.

Prior to his work with MEI, Don served as Business Development and Financial Consultant at Alliance Health Services, Inc.; a leading provider of MRI, CT and PET/CT diagnostic imaging services. In this role, Don identified new markets, developed referral sources, provided detailed pro forma financial information and reimbursement analysis, and working with internal and external legal counsel, ensured compliance with all applicable statutes and regulations.

Don also provided independent consulting services to a venture developing cutting edge oncologic services in Great Britain. Don’s detailed analyses and pro forma financial models for revenue-sharing arrangements have driven consensus and agreement between and among U.S. based manufacturers and vendors, a proprietary business entity based in London and several NHS-trust hospitals in London and elsewhere in the United Kingdom.  

From 1997-2003, Don was Vice President of Finance and Business Development at Vital Imaging, Inc., a company that owned, developed and operated preventive screening centers in selected markets utilizing CT technology and other advanced imaging/screening services including PET/CT scanning and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanning.

Don’s previous work experience includes the positions of Senior Consultant at boutique consulting firm Timpe & Darlington, Inc.; Vice President of Venture Development at National Medical Enterprises (now Tenet Healthcare), where he was responsible for financial reporting and budget analysis for the company’s’ 116 hospitals worldwide; and Vice President/Controller at OmniMed Corp.

Don began his career as a Senior Auditor with “Big 8” international accounting firm Arthur Andersen & Co.

Don holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University, and a Master of Science in Accountancy from University of Houston.

He is a Certified Public Accountant certified by the State of Texas and earned an Accreditation in Business Valuation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
